Good to see you all on Sunday fellas.

It was also really good to get a game of Society Golf in at long last.

A rain free game of golf at that.

Formby, as ever, was in great condition and as fully expected, Micky B, Rob H, and Les N were great company.

What can I say, I got lucky, scored well on some of the low SI holes, and managed to only zip 3 of the 16 in play.

I didn’t think 33 points would be enough to win the day, even telling Les that I hoped no-one matched it because I would more than likely take first place on a count back.

Sitting in between the dad and lad Foode’s (now obviously the grandad and dad Foode’s) I was completely oblivious to grandad Paul verifying my scorecard.

A few side eyes and nods were then exchanged before a subsequent two fingered salute was received from Stevie D, (who also scored 33 points). Only then did it dawn on me that I had in fact won the thing, and on the dreaded count back.

Joking aside, I have to say that Steve was a proper gent about it and didn’t call me a twat or anything like that, so thanks Steve.

Highlight of the day was the loud cheer for new dad Dan when he walked into the clubhouse before the game.
